ActionAid works with poor people in over 40 countries across the world with a goal to end poverty. The organisation believes that with right opportunities, poor people find their own solutions – and build new lives. Since its establishment in 1972 ActionAid has worked with children, families and communities across 26 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America and the Caribbean to overcome poverty. The organisation has started its operation in Bangladesh since 1983. It is engaged in anti–poverty initiatives and improves sustainability of development interventions. It seeks to change the capacities of people and groups and to uphold justice whose rights have been denied. It is also engaged in capacitating civil society actors and partnering with community engaged in promoting people’s rights.
