Established in 2015, Prakriti Resources Centre (PRC) is a non-governmental organisation working for sustainable development and environmental justice in Nepal. Climate-resilient and low carbon development, loss and damage, climate finance and international climate policy processes make up our core area of work. We ensure that poor and vulnerable people are able not just to cope with disasters and bounce back but to realise their rights and improve their well-being despite shocks, stresses and uncertainty. We also advocate for environmental-friendly policy and practices, and people-centred land and water governance. Gender equality and social inclusion, and good governance are the two themes which cross-cut all our projects, activities and practices.
The core objectives are:
PRC is acknowledged as a lead organization facilitating CSO and private sector engagement in policy and decision-making on climate finance, and development and implementation of gender-sensitive climate actions.
To enhance human and institutional capacities of potential CSOs, the private sector and government agencies in climate finance, low carbon development and resilience building.
To contribute through research to enriching existing body of literature and knowledge on PRC focal areas to the benefit of policymakers, the private sector, practitioners and other concerned stakeholders.
To strengthen the capacity of PRC as an institution, its staff and members to achieve the organisation’s goal.
